Our Course

The Pinnaroo Golf course is a beautiful 9 green (18 tee) woodland golf course, carved out of the South Australian Mallee in Pinnaroo. The course is fully irrigated with excellent Bermuda grass greens, grassed tee boxes, and wide Santa Ana fairways.

A par 73 course that offers a good challenge to golfers of all levels, it includes short and long par 3s, par 4s that require strategic positioning, as well as longer par 5s. The course layout involves several dog legs, two sand traps, and one large hill traversed twice.

The club and course is a fully volunteer run operation and we are lucky enough to have many proud community members who put in a lot of time and effort to keeping the club running and the course looking magnificent.

Playing at Pinnaroo Golf Club

All visitors to play the course are welcome and encouraged with green fees payable via an honesty box on the first tee. We request that you respect the course by replacing your divots and repairing your plug marks where necessary.

Motorised golf carts are welcome and if using one you will find paths around the course in between most holes.

Larger groups are also most certainly welcome to play the course. If you are wanting to do this though it may pay to contact the club to check the dates as we regularly have social groups on the course and occasionally have corporate days scheduled.

Temporary Move

The course still sits on its original location within the northwest corner of the township of Pinnaroo. At one stage during the late 1920s the Club moved to a new site within Pinnaroo in a view to establishing an 18-hole course. This move was short lived and in 1931 the Club decided to return to its original Devon Park site.

1960 - 1966

Green Conversion

The conversion to grass greens commenced with the planting of no. 9 green in 1960 and the laying of water irrigation. Two more greens were established in 1962 and another two in 1963. By 1966 nine greens had been established.

New Clubhouse

In 1969/70 the committee undertook planning to have a new clubhouse built on the hill above the course on Devon Terrace.

In 1974 the imposing brick clubhouse was opened by the President of the South Australian Golf Association. This clubhouse still stands proudly atop the hill today, overlooking the 9th green, and is a favourite place for golfers to enjoy a drink and a laugh after their round.
